Setup Netgear router using Smart Wizard

  • Plug your modem cable to the internet port of the Netgear router and connect your computer system to any of the router's LAN ports.
  • Restart all your devices again and Wait for all of them to finish booting up.
  • Open any of the web browsers and type the Netgear router Login IP in address bar, which can be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
  • You are prompted to log into the router.
  • Note: The default username is configured as admin and the default password is set to password.
  • Remember, these are case-sensitive.
  • From the Dashboard Click Setup Wizard.
  • Select Yes and click Next.
  • With cable internet connections, the Setup Wizard detects Dynamic IP.
  • Click Next. The router saves the settings.
  • Note: Your Internet service provider gave you specific DNS information that must be configured to change the default settings of the router.
  • At the end, you should check your IP address. Look at the IP Address field to see if you have a valid IP address (i.e, not blank or filled with zeroes such as 0.0.0.0).
